Are you going buy a dog? Read this first!

When you buy unregistered dog, you can as well buy a mixed-breed, you have no garantee it's a pure-bred dog!
It is only puppies that are registered in SKK (Swedish Kennel Club), or other FCI kennel-club, that are pure-bred dogs. If the unregistered puppies are after HD o AD free parental animals, thats are sound mentally and you can not find something that is wrong with the puppy / combination. Why have they not registrated the puppies? Whatever you may hear for arguments, it is ALWAYS something that's seriously wrong when the puppies are not registered!
As a puppy buyer tou can never register individuals retrospectively, but the entire litter must be registered by the so-called breeder.
As puppy buyer you are restricted in your purchase of unregistered, there is limited access to contests and samples arranged by various dog clubs. The breeders who take responsibilitiy do not want to limit their puppies to less active lives.

Breeders who choose not to register their litter will not be impacted by SKK's ground rules for breeders, nor the law about consuments. A SKK breeder have thus a responsibility of the puppy even after it is delivered. You may as a buyer of an unregistered puppy have less protection and are not covered by "purchase law" and the breeder will not take their responsibility.

The breeders who have registered kennel name has these and other obligations;
(it doesn't a person who'll breed mixed-breed)

Follow the guidelines for the breed in the possession of SKK.
Deliver, vaccinated, ID-marked and veterinary inspected dog.
Never deliver a puppy before 8 weeks of age.
To deliver the puppy with the purchase from SKK.
To deliver the puppy along with registration certificate (pedigree).
To comply with the breed's health.
To always provide truthful information.
To ensure that the puppy has had a good upbringing in the (at lest) 8 weeks they lived with the breeder.

The ground rules can be found here:

A breeder who sells unregistered puppies can be an excluded farmers from SKK's organization, they normally have committed serious crimes against SKK's ground rules. The dogs may have been banned in breeding and likely the breeder don't know how the dogs health are. It's most likely that they only sell the puppies to make money and don't have to take anyresponsibility for the puppies, which deserves dignified lives!

It does not cost much to register the puppies sum is 515 kr / puppy if one or both the parents don't have any merits. If both parents have merits it'll cost 355 kr / puppy

Translated from www.skk.se:

Why buy a pure-bred dog and not a mixed-breed?

A pure-bred dog's temperament, appearance and other characteristics are easier to predict than a mixed-breed. In some mixed puppies there are very many different dogs involved which can make it difficult to predict how the dog will bei in size and temperament terms.

The pure-bred dogs have in many cases health programs to combat hereditary diseases. Most mixed-breed's parents are not investigated for their potential dysplasia, elbow osteoarthritis etc. Therefore if one mates two dogs , where both breeds are prone to develop the same hereditary disease, the risk is in some cases greater that you get a defective puppy, than if you had bought a pure-bred puppy where both the parents are investigated and, without comment.

There is nothing that says that a mixed dog can'y be an equally pleasant and healthy companions as a pure-bred dog. BUT mixed breeding are not controlled by SKK or any authority, therefore it often requires more knowledge of the puppy buyer to purchase a mixed-breed or unregistered dogs.
